Lemon Infused Salt

My two favourite flavours have always been salt and lemon. So why not combine them? Obviously I'm not the first person to have this idea, you can buy lemon infused salts at fancy food shops, however they can be very expensive. I decided I would try to make my own, and I'm pleased to share that it was a huge success on the first try!

You can get really creative with this type of recipe. You could use other citrus fruits, such as limes or grapefruits. Include dried herbs, such as thyme, rosemary, dill, or basil. I think ground ginger and lime, or rosemary and orange would be a lovely combinations.

Lemon Infused Salt

Makes 1/2 Cup

  • Zest of One Lemon

  • 1/2 Cup Sea Salt - I used a Celtic Sea Salt

  1. To a glass jar add the salt and the lemon zest, let sit for about 5 days.

  2. After 5 days place the salt and lemon zest into a food processor and pulse until crumbly.

  3. That's it, you now have lemon infused salt!
