25 Steps to Self Care

Self care is essential for achieving and maintaining good health, it is essential for physical and mental wellness. You don't have to do anything elaborate, expensive or time consuming, just a few simple steps to caring for yourself daily. Here are some ideas:

1. Speak your truth 2. Don’t be a people pleaser 3. Trust your intuition 4. Never speak badly about yourself or others 5. Never give up on your dreams 6. Treat yourself and others with kindness 7. Let go of what no longer serves you 8. Stay away from negativity and drama 9. Surround yourself with positive, genuine people 10. Laugh often 11. Forgive quickly and easily 12. Love openly and honestly 13. Enjoy an Epsom salts bath with an essential oil such as Lavender once or twice a week 14. Connect with friends and family as often as you can 15. Treat yourself to a deep tissue massage, a steam or sauna 16. Exercise regularly, take a yoga or pilates class, join a recreational hockey team or figure skating club, take swimming lessons 17. Get plenty of rest 18. Meditate daily, for a beginner work up to a minimum of 20 minutes 19. Eat nutrient dense foods - if you aren't sure how, invest in yourself and seek the advice of a nutritionist 20. Include Reiki in your wellness routine

21. Turn off your television, computer and phone at least an hour before bed and read a book

22. Reduce your alcohol and caffeine intake and increase your consumption of water

23. Engage in some type of creative activity - learn to knit, take a painting class, sign up for dancing lessons

24. Set your dining table for dinner every night, light a candle and turn on some soft music. Don't eat in front of the television or over your sink, turn off your phone, even if you're dining alone 25. Go on vacation or mini vacations as often as you can. It doesn't need to be to an expensive or fancy destination, something simple will still be beneficial. Taking a break from our daily routine can be rejuvenating and restorative
