Jan's Chili Recipe


This is a great recipe for a Super Bowl party. It's easy to make, loaded with vitamins, minerals, fibre and protein, plus it tastes great!

Jan's Chili

Serves 4

  • 1 Lb. Lean Ground Beef

  • 1 Large Onion, diced

  • 4 Cloves Garlic, minced

  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil

  • 1 Cup Mushrooms, sliced

  • 4 Celery Stalks, sliced

  • 1 Red Pepper, seeded & diced

  • 1 Yellow Pepper, seeded & diced

  • 1 14oz. Can Red Kidney Beans, drained

  • 1 14oz. Can Diced Tomatoes

  • 1 6oz. Can Tomato Paste, sugar-free

  • 2 tsp. Chili Powder, more if you like heat

  1. Heat a skillet and add the olive oil, garlic, and onion, cook about 5 minutes.

  2. Stir in the ground beef, cook until browned.

  3. Add the remaining ingredients, cover and simmer about 20 minutes.

  4. Add water if it is too thick, a tablespoon at a time.

  5. Season the chili with salt and pepper.

  6. Enjoy warm.
