Healthy Apple Crumble

Serves 4

Here's a fun dessert recipe as we head into the weekend. It's gluten-free and packed with vitamins, minerals, fibre, and flavour!

  • 6 Cooking Apples, peeled, cored and chopped

  • 1 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon

  • ½ Tsp. Ground Nutmeg

  • ½ Cup Ground Pecans

  • ½ Cup Ground Walnuts

  • ½ Cup Ground Almonds

  • ¼ Cup Agave Nectar or Maple Syrup

  • 2 Tbsp. Grapeseed Oil or Coconut Oil

1. Preheat oven to 350°.

2. Place apples in a pie pan or baking dish and dust with cinnamon and nutmeg.

3. Cover and bake for 20 minutes.

4. In a bowl, mix together ground pecans, walnuts, almonds, agave or maple syrup.

5. Add grapeseed or coconut oil and stir until mixture resembles coarse meal, add more oil if necessary.

6. Sprinkle topping over apples.

7. Bake uncovered in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
