Reiki and the Heart Chakra

The heart chakra is located in the centre of your chest. It is your chakra of giving and receiving love, your chakra of warmth, compassion, and joy. The colour associated with the heart chakra is green. The element for the heart chakra is air.

The heart chakra is associated with your heart, lungs, circulatory system, arms, and hands, as well as your lymphatic system.

A balanced heart chakra means love and compassion are flowing freely, not only to others, but also to yourself, you forgive quickly and easily, you accept yourself and others.

A heart chakra that is out of balance can lead to feelings of anger, jealousy, fear of betrayal, inability to trust, hatred toward others and yourself.

Some signs that your heart chakra might be out of balance include feelings of shyness and loneliness, as well as an inability to feel empathy.

Physical symptoms of an unbalanced heat chakra may include chest pains, respiratory issues, the feeling of having a heavy heart.

Healing foods: Green vegetables such as kale, spinach, arugula, broccoli, zucchini, chard, collards, sprouts, bok choy, green peas and beans. Fruits such as apples, kiwi, pears, and grapes.

Healing exercises: Swimming, breast stroke or push-ups, any exercises that activate the pecs. Hugging yourself can be a powerful heart chakra exercise. Deep breathing is an excellent way to open your heart chakra, envision a green flower spinning over your chest while taking deep belly breaths.

Healing affirmations: I am loved. I love myself. I forgive quickly and easily. I forgive myself. My heart is full. I embrace the differences in others. I have so much to be grateful for. I am at peace.

Reiki is a specific type of subtle energy work in which healing is performed by the light touch of the hands, allowing the flow of energy from a limitless source to the recipient via the Reiki practitioner.

When Reiki is performed on the heart chakra it releases negative energy, leading to feelings of love, compassion, kindness, forgiveness, generosity and peace.
